Why is a speech given by Abraham Lincoln so eerily similar to that of George W. Bush's thoughts?

The only thing Lincoln and Bush had in common is that the national capital was attacked during each Administration. Of course, Lincoln won his war. Bush would've sided with the Confederacy.
