Hey guys I'm doing discrete structures hw and I'm stuck on this "Prove if a is even, then 3a^2+5a is even.?

since the expression 3a^2+5a= a(3a+5) contains "a" as a factor which already has a factor of 2(because it is even). Therefore the entire expression contains a factor of 2, hence it is even.
